Sailing single-handed across the Atlantic in a Mini 6.50 class boat was what 23-year-old Lina Rixgens was aiming for. Now, she has become the first German female sailor ever to reach the finish of the Transatlantic regatta in the Caribbean.
Currently a student of medicine, Rixgens discovered sailing at the tender age of 10. And she has been inseparable from the ocean ever since. In 2010, she already took part in the "High Seas High School" project whose participants sailed on a gaff-rigged schooner from Hamburg to Central America and back. The Mini 6.50 class offered Lina an ideal entry into the open-ocean regatta scene with the Mini Transat as its highlight.
When Lina approached FSE Robline with her project, we knew right away that we just had to support such young and great potential. What also made it interesting for us was that her needs were perfectly covered by some of our standard sailing products such as Admiral PRO, Admiral 10000, and Admiral 7000.
We are very proud to be able to support such a young and talented sailor with the suitable cordage for the pursuit of her passion.
We are happy about her successful attempt to cross the Atlantic and cannot wait to hear what her next venture will be.
